American Idol Winner 2009

Oh how I have enjoyed watching Kris Allen become the winner. I wasn't always a huge fan. But I liked him more and more every week.

In our house we are all about American Idol. We love singing, and performing. Well some of us do. Christopher, and Noah don't really watch American Idol they would rather play video games, or watch a movie for the millionth time.

But Chris, Kelsea, Lynsey, Bethany, and Me that's another story. We tune in each week from the very first show to the very last show. I thought the finale was so great this year. I love all the corny, cheesey stuff they do. Hee hee

I thought Adam was going to win, but I was secretly holding on to the hope that America would vote for Kris. Let me tell you why.

From the moment we saw Adam he was fantastic. I loved every choice and every song he did. My favorite was 'Ring of Fire' by Johnny Cash. It was great, and different. He is going to have an AWESOME singing career. When he did 'Tracks of My Tears' I was blown away. He looked really hot. Like a young Elvis. yeah baby.

Kris wasn't someone I liked everytime. I watched him grow and that I can get behind. I loved when he did 'She Works Hard For the Money' and 'Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone'.

When it came down to the voting for the final 3 you had Allison a rocker chic, Danny a ballady easy going singer, Adam a rocker guy, and Kris a ballady easy going singer.

When Allison left most of her votes went to Adam. Some where still split up between Danny and Kris. Because those teens are a fickle bunch.
When Danny left all his core fans went to Kris. With this in mind and the fact that Kris was the underdog (which america loves the underdog), and alot of Adam fans thought he had it in the bag. TA DAH the winner is Kris Allen.

It doesn't really matter anymore who wins American Idol. There are going to be serveral huge artists come from this great group of kids....

The Auburn loving family.....a.k.a. The Walkers

Okay so I have some pretty great friends that live out in Auburn, AL. This is them. Jeff, Branden, Robbie, and Lisa. Also known as The Walker Family. This picture was taken at Auburn University in Dec 2008. I am really surprised they are wearing red and not orange. I'm sure Lisa picked the red because I know if it was left to the guys it would be orange all the way baby.

Lisa grew up in my hometown, and dated my brother for along time. Lisa was like a sister to me and my sister. We were bridesmaids in her wedding when she married Jeff. I liked Jeff from the moment I met him. He was born and raised somewhere around Macon. I think more like Warner Robins. Anyway, when Lisa brought him home to meet her family he came to meet us. We thought he was a winner. And Lisa deserved a Winner.
I talk more to Jeff over emails and such then anything else. I don't get the chance to talk to Lisa as much as I would like, but I know everything will be right where we left off the next time I see her. She is not a phone gabber like me. Hee Hee.
Oh do I have stories to tell about Lisa Lisa. Hee hee I will save those for when I can find the photos as proof. hee hee

In 2005 Me, Chris, Lynsey, Kelsea, Bethany, and Noah went for a visit to Auburn. We had a really nice time with the Walkers. Chris and Jeff went to some football game, and Lisa and I hang out eating ice cream, and going to the park. They hadn't had Branden yet. Robbie was the same age as Bethany. Lisa wasn't feeling like she wanted another, and Jeff was totally wanting more. After being around my wonderful family they had another. Hee Hee. Really they had another after they came into town and visited us for a weekend. hee Hee. Vacation will do it everytime. I have pictures of that somewhere.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Noah. It was so him. Playing around, on the go, drink spilled down his front, and wanting to be BATMAN.

Photo Story Friday: Lynsey Sweet Sixteen Invites

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Lynsey's Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party is coming up. We wanted to do something different with the invites. So, I thought photo invites for her friends would be AWESOME. I didn't want to pay someone. I thought I could take the pictures myself. So she did her own hair, slapped on a crown, used the homecoming dress from last year, and we headed to the overlook by Spanky's.

I want to say a few things right now:

1.) Lynsey is a really pretty girl. I have never really seen a bad picture of her. I have seen funny, strange, beautiful, to grown, ect. However, I have never seen a picture of her that I thought was ugly. (I know Lynsey will read this and I want her to know that I love her and don't take any comments personally;)

2.) I am by no means a photographer. I take pictures of the kids but I am not a professional, and I never thought I was. I just wanted 1 or 2 good shots to use. I took 100 pictures that afternoon. It was hard to choose in the end.

Back to the story. Well as we were driving there it just got darker and darker. It was really cloudy and we thought we would get rained on. Also, the wind was really bad. You'll see. The wind never really stopped.

Here we go.....

Well the island goes right through her head. She is facing what would be sun behind the cloud and her eyes are all squinty.

Bangs in her face. Was a good idea. I just couldn't pull it together.

This is something that I really liked. I love her leg kicked up like that. I love her up shoulder, and her poked out bum. I do not love her upper arm, but we can't be perfect.

We thought under this tree would be nice. Then I realized no one wants a picture of an armpit.

I say Lynsey go over by that tree. Those first tree pictures were really uncomfortable for her and for me. I didn't know what to tell her. I just kept saying get closer. Maybe if she would've been closer.

We took a break so she could look at what I took, and told me what she liked and wanted to keep doing. She likes the idea of the tree. I also told her about not smashing her arm against her self. Well that leads us to this picture.

Then she started getting really comfortable with the tree. I like this against the tree.

We liked the flowers. Put this looks like she doesn't and she is doing push ups. Sort of very square.

I said 'Hey lets do one just for Aunt Amanda. You know the pose she loves.'

Lynsey decided that I wasn't taking them from her best angle and took some herself.

Back to the tree. Only this looks like she has no hands, and it's another good shot of an armpit.

Bethany climbed a tree and the pictures are good. They are at the end. So, with high heels on Lynsey climbed the tree. I like this photo. It was one of my favorites.

I took some of Lynsey from the angle she likes. To bad the flower almost took out her eye.

Peek a boo I see you.

This is a proof of the invite. They are going to be 5 x7. Pretty cool. After the party all of her friends will have a really great picture of her with a crown. I guess it is alittle self absorb, but we'll let her be the princess for awhile. Hee hee ;)

These are a few shots I took of Bethany that I really liked.

I think this summer I would like to take the rest over there and snap some photos. All in all I think I didn't fine enough.
