James Howard Uphold Sr.

This week as been really tough. I got the call Monday night that my Grandfather Uphold died. This is my Dad's Dad. I grew up right next door to him. He was a good man. He had his faults, but he was a good man. These last couple of years have been really hard for him. These next couple of years will be very difficult for my Grandmother.

An Uphold Reunion was started a couple of years ago. Which I would just like to say was a GREAT idea. I think it is a shame that families only seem to have time together for weddings, and funerals. Reunions give us an opportunity to really embrace each other. You can check out the Uphold Reunion website. That reunion is great fun. The man sitting in the wheelchair in the front is my Grandfather, James Howard Uphold Sr. My father was named after him. My brother was named after my father. My son's middle name was from them all.

I was unable to attend the funeral. I am very sad about this. I had allot of reasons which seem pathetic, and irrelevant as I am writing this so I will not mention them. There are no do overs in life, but if there was a do over I would be there today for the funeral.

I am relying on my sister to tell me every detail. I know she will. I asked my sister to make sure the pulling of the flowers and laying them at the casket and singing of amazing grace gets done at the grave site. I know she also asked for this song to be played at the beginning of the funeral service.
Amazing Grace by Chris Tomlin

The Dash
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Christopher & Noah's Birthday

Well I asked the boys 'What do yall want to do for your Birthday this year?' Their Birthdays are April 18 & 19 so we do them together. They really wanted to go camping. I mean what boy wouldn't? So a camping we must go. (I have always loved camping.)
Christopher is 11, and Noah is 5.

this was the reason they wanted to go camping so badly. Grandma bought a tent for Christopher for Christmas and he just had to sleep in it.

this is Noah sleeping in the tent.

This is Christopher trying to sleep in the tent.

This is the fire. I just love a good campfire.

You might be asking yourself. Well camping sounds fun and all but what do you do all day at camp? Well here you go.
Relax......

Talk and relax......Or you could pose for a picture by scratching your face with a certain finger.....Hee Hee(I just couldn't post it)

Hang around

Torture your baby sister

Play with someone's camera when she wasn't looking and get a picture.

Play with the fire

Watch everyone else play games.

Borrow your anunt's camera and take a picture of your baby sister. (by Jackson)

Play on the four wheeler....

Pretend to drive the four wheeler....

Play games like Yatzee and Skip Bo all day and most of the night.

Let's not forget about eating. You get to eat Breakfast, lunch, and dinner of course. But then there are snacks all day. and yummy s'mores at night.

The kids loved being able to ride their bikes everywhere.

They also loved going to the parks. One was right beside us, the other was across the park.

We had such a good time this weekend. I am so glad everyone enjoyed it. We loved it so much we are planning on going Memorial Day weekend, and The 4th of July.

So we left on a Thursday night. This is me trying to take a picture of all of the kids in the van through the Mommy Mirror.

Friday Morning

We went to Chef Mickey's for Breakfast. I love this picture of Jonathon even though his hand is unclear. His face is so excited.

Goofy and the kids

They brought Jonathon a cupcake with a candle on it for his Birthday.

Party on Noah
Minnie stopped by. I love her.
Then the star himself. Mickey Mouse. Noah decided that his nose was the best part.
Jackson agreed.
I love this picture of Noah with Mickey.
We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship....
June and Quincy Jackson Noah and Emma Mae
I think I was more excited about JoJo than Bethany was. When Bethany was little she loved Jojo's Circus. We had the soundtrack, dolls, clothes....She said she didn't care about getting her picture done with them, but I have a feeling that she really liked it.

I don't really know if Noah really remembered them but he sure acted like he did.

Frozone best friend to Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. All around good guy and my favorite of the day. He was just cool.

Guest Star Bill Ryan thought that he was as cool as Frozone. Hee Hee

Amanda and I thought we could be as cool as Frozone.

Amand and I were just walking down the street and we saw this women. I am going to let Amanda tell this story, but I will tell you that later on I found out who she really was. I will give all that info after Amanda tells the story of our meeting. Hee Hee
Saturday Morning we went to the Crystal Palace and had breakfast with Winne The Pooh and Friends.
Tigger

Eyeore

I wonder if when he gets home he doesn't want to be touched? Or do you think he hates to be petted?

This is me waving at you from the Dumbo ride.

This is Noah. He was totally beat. While we pin traded he took a nap.
I don't think this is one of my most creative posts but I think it is my longest. There are just so many pictures. I will post soon the videos I took now they are funny.
