Character Day!!

So, today was Character Day at school today. The children where to pick their favorite storybook, and then dress up like their favorite character out of the book. Well Christopher picked the book 'Diary of a Whimpy Kid'. If you've never read them they are very funny. It's like reading a diary of a young boy who doesn't always make the best choices, and sometimes he doesn't learn his lessons. Umm he sounds very familiar to me...Heehee

The costume was very simple. 3 spikey hairs in the back, a white shirt, and dark jeans. Way to go Christopher...a.k.a Greg Heffely...a.k.a. Whimpy Kid.

Next up we have Noah James. He loves this book 'Davis Gets In Trouble'. He can read it to me. Well he has it memorized, he really can't 'read' yet. This was his idea. He came and asked if he could be David, and I said 'sure because I'm the best Mom in the world'...Okay maybe it didn't go like that, but I did say 'I'll see what I can do'.
He hates spikey hair. If you ever see him with spikey hair it's because I've begged and pleaded for the spikes. I also have to give lots of kisses, extra hugs, and treats for spikes. I'm a mama who likes her spikes.
David wears red leggin' looking pants, and a blue and white stripped shirt. I found the red pants this weekend but I couldn't find the right kind of stripped shirt. So, Kelsea painted one for Noah. He got to watch and act like he was helping. She is so good with him, and would do anything for her baby.
He was so thrilled about this outfit. He said this morning that it was perfect. Then he said 'I wish we could cut my head in a circle.' Hee Hee....I told him he looked perfect.

Last but not least we have Bethany. She loves the book 'This Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown'. This is one of her favorites. When I read it to her I change the name from Emily Brown to Bethany Corin, and the bunny Stanley to Emma. No wonder she loves this book she thinks it's about her...Hee hee
I love this little outfit. She is really really close to looking just like Emily Brown. Oh she was so excited getting this together.
I think she was even more excited about getting to carry Emma to school. She had me wash Emma last night just for today. She got Emma for her 3rd birthday from Grandma Pat. She loves this little bunny wunny.

If you have never read these children's books please go and get them. They would make great gifts for a child in your life.
One last question: Do you think the children really look like the characters they are trying to per tray or is it just me?
