13 Thursday # 5 'Lynsey Kirkland'

13 Thursday # 5 Lynsey Kirkland

13.) She does like herself a lot.

12.) She is a really good big sister, and she is a very thoughtful little sister.

11.) She has always been a Daddy’s girl. I know that she loves her Mom, but she has always had a special relationship with her Dad.

10.) She says she LETS Bethany sleep in her bed every night, but I know she WANTS Bethany in her bed every night.

9.) She can be very mean to her littlest brother when he doesn’t listen to her. So far this summer she has put Noah in the corner, washed Noah’s mouth out with soap, and hit Noah’s hand.

8.) Christopher does get on Lynsey’s nerves sometimes. BUT she always takes up for Christopher, and he would do anything she asked.

7.) Lynsey started taking dance last year when she moved in with us. She loves loves loves her dance class, dance studio, well she loves anything that has to do with dance. She is looking forward to this year’s dance classes.

6.) Lynsey always takes care of stuff at home while I am at work. She always does her chores and helps with whatever else needs done. Sometimes she gets fed up but for the most part she is a good helper.

5.) Lynsey says the first thing that pops into her head. This is not always a good thing. It has gotten her into trouble a couple of times. Now if she could just learn tact it would be great.

4.) Lynsey has standards. She lets people (boys) know what her standards are and if they don’t like it then Bye Bye.

3.) Lynsey and Kelsea have a special kind of relationship. I don’t think that they get along well at their Mom’s house and that is sad. I see the two of them together at our house and yes they have there moments like all sisters do but in the end they are each other’s friend.
(I could tell a gross story right now but I won’t)

2.) School is very important to Lynsey. She wants to do as well as she can.

1.) Lynsey and I have a special kind of bond. Ever since the day I met her I knew that we would have a special relationship. We just click. I get her, and she gets me with no real effort. My opinion matters to her, as does her to I. She excepts me for who I am.

Dancing Queen

Well I went to see Mamma Mia on Friday night. It was a girls night.
It was a girls night out just me, Karen, and Gloria. This was the first time I ever spent time with Gloria outside of school, and I must say she is wonderful.
I had the best time.
Chris and I had a little tiff before I left for the movie, and I didn't get home until 12:30 a.m. and he was mad. He was waiting on the porch. He was questioning me with the What, Where, Who, Why and all I kept thinking was:
You are a dancing queen, young, and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, fee the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch the scene, dig in the dancing gueen.
Now mind you I didn't dare say it at this point because that would not have been funny right at that moment.
I kept having flashbacks to my teen years.
I looked at him and said 'you are not my daddy'
Well I guess no ... for me.
Hee Hee
Next time I will check in.
I have learned my lesson.
I would just like to say, yes he was upset
Yes I should have called but in my defense I would like to say that after are tiff I tried calling him several times before the movie and he wouldn't answer so thats what you get.
For those of you wondering about the movie I want to tell you it is a musical. I would not take my husband to see this movie. If you would like a male's view on this film just ask my brother Josh. He made gagging noises everytime they started to sing.

Cousins!

This is me (Echo), Brandy, and George. These are my cousins. Our parents are Brothers, and Sisters so that makes us First cousins. This was taken down on the Uphold farm at the Reunion on July 26, 2008. This is a very special photo for me for alot of reasons:
1- I don't have alot of pictures of myself. Looking at this I remember why. I mean I take up over half the photo.
2- I don't have any pictures with Brandy, George, and Myself as adults.

I was so glad to see Brandy. We were close growing up. My mom and her mom had a relationship alot like Amanda and I's. I would think they were the original PICs. I am not taking away from how much I love Brandy, but I am writing today because I want to talk about George.

The last serious conversation I had with George was right after my brother Jimmy died. He and George were really tight. I do not want to take away from the relationship they had, but I am not ready to write about that yet.

Today I want to talk about the relationship that I have with George.

George was born in April of 1975, I was born in July of 1975. We were young and we were close. I always thought Georgie was so smart, funny, cute did I mention smart. Hehe
He always did better in school than me. He always had alot of friends. People just always thought he was so cool to be around. He used to come and stay with us in the summer. I have a picture somewhere of the two of us playing Jenga.
At some point he lived in my parents basement, and at some point my brother lived with him. I only ever partied with George once. We were teens and he was with Sheri then. It was a ton of fun. But later in life we just were in two different places, just doing our own thing.
I sit here right now and think, and hurt about how much I really missed George.

I called George on Friday
I said 'I really want to see you'
he said 'I want to see you too but you know I just have less hair and I'm older'
I said 'So, I am older and fatter'
he said 'you're not fat'

Thank you George for saying that but you haven't seen my in like 7 years.

Anyway, when I saw him at the reunion he said 'You're not fat'. Thank You George for loving me just the way I am.

Something else George said to me.
he said 'Echo you and Harmony are like the sisters I never had'
I said 'George you are like one of the only brothers I got left'
then I said 'but we are not going to talk about sad things today'

Then later in the evening I went up to the pavilion to see George shake a leg. He was having a good time. Then the song 'Pictures' came on and he grabbed me and we danced and sang. That song at that moment with that person couldn't have been better. At the end of the song I said 'You have to always stay as cool as Kid Rock'
Lyrics to Pictures
I saw you yesterday with an old friend
it was the same old same how have you been
Since you've been gone my world's been dark and grey
you reminded my of brighter days
I hoped you were coming home to stay

I thought about you for a long time
I can't seem to get you off my mind
I can't understand why we're living life this way

George I am glad that we have found each other again, and I hope that we will work on staying in touch.

I love you Man!
